Richards Bay Rotary welcomes new members
THE Richards Bay Rotary Club was thrilled to welcome three new members on Monday evening.
Nominated and introduced by John Macfarlane, Pieter Cloete will add a wealth of educational, leadership, training and industrial relations knowledge to Rotary’s pool of resources.
A keen sports lover, Pieter has held senior positions at Richards Bay Minerals and also served on the Richtek board.
Tienis and Koba Schwartz, who are back in Richards Bay for the second time, were introduced to Rotary by Tienis’ work colleague, Arthur Gray.
Very much a hands-on man who via an apprenticeship became a key role player in the mining and industrial sector, Tienis will enhance Rotary’s many practical and technical projects.
Koba will add to the talent available to the Rotary Annes, as they undertake their independent projects.
Officiating at the handover of the new members’ badges, newly inducted Rotary Richards Bay President, Leon Willemse, emphasised the motto ‘service before self’ and called for total commitment to making a difference, while still enjoying the fellowship and friendship of the Rotary family.
Celebrating the addition of new members to the Rotary fold are John Macfarlane, Pieter Cloete, Tienis and Koba Schwartz, Anne President Zelda Willemse, Rotary President Leon Willemse and Arthur Gray
