Farlam and Goddard off to Audi Quattro Cup world finals

EMPANGENI’S Allan Farlam and Brian Goddard scored themselves an Audi Quattro golf bag and an all expense paid trip to the Audi Quattro Cup world final in Kitzbuhel, Austria next month after chipping and putting their way to victory at the Audi Golf Day held at the Empangeni Country Club on Saturday.

The event is one of nine qualifiers played all over the country that sees golfers follow a Greensome Stableford format over 18 holes.

All winning pairs qualify for the finals and will represent South Africa when they compete against 46 other countries.

This year is the 26th consecutiv­e year that South Africa is participat­ing in the Audi Quattro Cup, with more than 1 000 golfers competing in South Africa and more than 100 000 globally.

Farlam and Goddard booked their trip to Austria with 42 points, ahead of Richard Allan and Bryan van Aswegen on 41 points.

Third place went to husband and wife duo Jandri and Anna-Mart Kraftt who carded 40 points.

The Nearest to the Pin prizes went to Matthew Gouws (4th), Leon Loots (9th), Eugene Öppenlande­r (14th) and Wiseman Mdunge (17th).
