Donation for family care

- Tamlyn Jolly

RICHARDS Bay Family Care (RBFC) can reach out further to the community’s vulnerable children after a generous donation from the Richards Bay Temple Society under the banner of its Lord Shiva Hampers of Hope project.

Children’s clothing, as well as kitchen utensils and groceries were recently donated to the cash-strapped NPO whose mandate it is to provide support for the most vulnerable children in society.

‘Richards Bay Temple Society has run this project for many years and, through it, assisted many communities,’ said RBFC Social Work Supervisor, Zakithi Mahlati.

‘This time around they opened their hearts to support RBFC and we are thankful for their generosity and appreciate their support.

‘This generous act proved to us that, regardless of our cultural or religious orientation, we all have a heart for the vulnerable children in our community.

‘We encourage other religious structures to join hands with RBFC in caring for those who are in need.’

Anyone wanting to support RBFC by donating in the run-up to this festive season and beyond can contact the office on 035 7892640 (Zakithi Mahlati) or email the treasurer, Elvin Venter, on elvin@awon. co.za.
