Reach­ing new heights

VELDENVLEI Pri­mary School’s Kayleigh Naude (13) has lit­er­ally leaped to new heights this year, achiev­ing su­perbly at high jump and set­ting her sights on the 2020 Olympic Games.

The tal­ented ath­lete broke her school’s high jump record that had stood for 20 years, when clear­ing 1.51m (1.43m old record).

She was awarded the Swim­mer and Ath­lete of the Year tro­phies at her school’s prize giv­ing cer­e­mony and bagged the Se­nior Vic­trix Lu­do­rum for swim­ming this year.

Kayleigh scooped gold at the fol­low­ing events for U13 high jump this year: SASSA KZN Pri­mary Schools com­pe­ti­tion, KZNCSSA, SACSSA In­vi­ta­tional, SACSSA Na­tion­als and KZNA Sub Youth.

Her lat­est achieve­ment in­cludes se­lec­tion for the SA Chris­tian School’s team that will com­pete at ASA on 24 Novem­ber.
