Victim’s body recovered

THE body of a 21-year-old male drowning victim was recovered by members of the Empangeni SAPS Search and Rescue Dive Unit and K9 Search and Rescue Unit at a dam in Vryheid on Tuesday.

The Empangeni units were called in to assist the Newcastle police with a drowning report in the Kingsley policing area.

An inquest docket has been opened for further investigation.
