Tributes pour in for local judge

- Muzi Zincume

THE Ntshangase family and KwaMsani community in Mtubatuba are mourning the death of retired Judge David Ntshangase (79).

The well known legal guru died at his home last Wednesday.

He worked as a magistrate around KZN for many years.

He was a chairperson of the Marikana panel of experts, tasked with investigating the nature of public order policing in South Africa and the use of weaponry by security forces during the bloody massacre.

‘He was a people’s person and was loved by everybody who knew him,’ said family spokesperson, Anthony Ntshangase.

‘He had an open heart, especially for those community members who wanted to further their studies. A group of Somkhele residents would visit him to seek legal advice when faced with challenges.

‘He was that kind of person who would spend time helping others.’

Ntshangase will be laid to rest on Saturday after a funeral service which will be held at KwaMsane’s Nordale community hall.
