THE Iseluleko Sezandla Foundation, together with the Ulusha Foundation, will host an awareness campaign to inform communities about the dangers of swimming while under the influence of alcohol.

Event organiser, Seluleko Khasibe, said the main purpose of the campaign is to warn especially beach-goers to act responsibly in front of children and stay away from alcohol abuse while supervising their children at the beach.

‘There is a lot of inappropriate and immoral behaviour by adults at swimming pools and at the beach. That is why we decided to launch this campaign together with Ulusha Foundation so that we can speak to the community about these socials ills,’ said Khasibe.

He said the event will take place on Saturday, 8 December and there will be a fun walk from 5Ways Mall, ending at the Empangeni Rugby Club, where invited guests will be afforded an opportunity to address the community.

‘As a professional swimmer, I will also be giving some swimming tips to ensure we reduce drowning incidents during this festive season.

‘The Ulusha Foundation will be represented by its chairperson, Thanduxolo Sabelo,’ said Khasibe.
