Count­down to swim

LO­CAL en­durance swim­mers will be put to the test when they com­pete in the an­nual Fish Ea­gles 1 000m swim on 23 and 24 No­vem­ber at the Em­pan­geni mu­nic­i­pal swim­ming pool.

The pop­u­lar event is open to all ages and car­ries a cost of R100 for the in­di­vid­ual event, and R400 for the re­lay team event.

Re­lay teams must be made up of five swim­mers who will com­plete eight x 25m laps.

There are medals for all par­tic­i­pants and age groups, as well as over­all win­ner prizes up for grabs.

All re­lays are sched­uled for Fri­day from 3pm, with the in­di­vid­ual swim tak­ing place on Sat­ur­day from 8am.

One can reg­is­ter on both days, but en­tries close at 12pm on Sat­ur­day.

En­try forms are avail­able at www. fishea­, or can be col­lected at the Ar­bore­tum swim­ming pool or Em­pan­geni mu­nic­i­pal swim­ming pool be­tween 2pm and 6pm Mon­days to Fri­days.
