Good vibes in the NRB camp
THE mood is decidedly upbeat in the Richards Bay FC camp ahead of this weekend’s international break.
Following their terrific comefrom-behind 2-2 draw against TS Sporting last time out, the NRB squad has been significantly boosted by the signing of star centre back Junaid Sait.
Sait, formerly of promotion chasers Stellenbosch University and last season’s PSL outfit Ajax Cape Town, is the son of former Cape
Town Spurs and
Orlando Pirates star Kamaal Sait.
The 25-year-old also played briefly in Sweden under former Barcelona and Manchester United forward Henrik Larsson.
‘He is a quality footballer who will bring more solidity to our defence,’ said NRB coach Brandon Truter.
He was speaking at Tuesday’s practice session where Sait appeared to slot in easily with his new team-mates and will be ready to hit the ground running when Richards Bay hosts Witbank Spurs at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Saturday, 24 November. Spurs are a better team than their third from last log position shows, but the NRB boys are full of confidence and will want to not only maintain their unbeaten home record, but also do so with three points and a bagful of goals.
Truter was still enthusing about the 2-2 comeback against Sporting, although less complimentary of the officiating at the game. ‘Our second goal, the strike by Paseka Sekese, will surely be the goal of the week on the NFD Show this Friday.’ Richards Bay will play a friendly away to AmaZulu today (Thursday).
