Costly cattle crash should not be for ratepayers’ bill
With regards to the article in your newspaper regarding the serious accident caused by stray cattle, the municipal manager and his staff should stop their stories about not being able to impound the cattle.
All they have to do is to charge the owner of the cattle R5 000 and ensure that the fine is paid or attach his property.
But then the elections are very near and they cannot afford to upset the voters.
When it comes to the farce of cutting the electricity to the two clubs, whoever went ahead and instructed that the electricity should be cut should be held responsible for this idiotic decision and pay the legal fees out of his own pocket and not that of the ratepayers. FED UP RATEPAYER
