Alexander’s trickery sets up Empangeni victory

- Richard Springorum

CALEB Alexander’s trickery with the cherry set the tone for Empangeni Cricket Club’s fivewicket victory over Felixton in a first division Saturday 24-Over League game at Addison Park on Saturday.

The youngster ended with figures of 3/8 in 1.6 overs, which resulted in Felixton being dismissed for a mere 82 runs in the 15th over, after Empangeni won the toss and elected to bowl first on a flat track with no bounce.

Right-handed batsman Phakamani Mthethwa worked hard at the crease for his 23 runs off 38 balls before being trapped LBW by Alex du Plessis.

Dylan Bond contributed

Medium pace bowler Cameron Atkins ended with impressive figures of 2/25 in 6.
