Top award for Mandeni Municipality

MANDENI Municipality scooped the prestigious ‘Best Local Municipality Award’ in the infrastructure sector category at the Kamoso Awards hosted by the KZN Department of Human Settlements and Public Works in Umhlanga on Saturday.

Mandeni has, over the years, implemented a number of infrastructural projects, which included 2 496 units in the Inyoni Intergrated Housing Project, Macambini Rural Housing Project and Mathonsi/Sundumbili Rural Housing Project.

Speaking after the awards, Mandeni Mayor Sphesihle Zulu said the support and patience of the community was key to delivering proper services.

‘We are very proud of this award. It shows that working together really does pay and hard work is key to getting things done.

‘We hope that our community will be happy about what we managed to achieve this year and we will also continue ensuring that we implement our IDP plans’, said Zulu.
