Rain showers stop play

- Larry Bentley

IT was always going to be tough going in the Nkwalini Citrus golf day last Friday with heavy rain expected later in the day.

And when it did arrive, the drenching rain had even the seasoned golfers bailing out.

Eventually it was agreed that the tournament would be cut short and only nine holes be played instead of the scheduled 18.

Wet and cold golfers were pleased with the prospect of an early shower.

Winners on the day were the Kingdom Kings squad, sponsored by Kingdom Builders Depot.

The Wally Latham Trophy for the best-dressed team went to Shaun and Michelle McHugh, Debbie Steenberg and Colin Hohls.
