Excellence celebrated

HARD work and excellence were celebrated at Tisand Technical High School, during the school’s prize giving awards held last week.

Learners and teachers scooped various awards for their hard work in producing quality results for the eSikhaleni-based school.

Guest speaker and former student, Sphesihle Zulu commended the school for keeping its tradition of producing excellence.

Zulu, who is a geologist at Richards Bay Minerals had a word of advice for female learners, urging them to stay focused on their studies.

‘Success does not come cheap, it comes after hard work and sacrifices,’ she said.

Grade 12 learners also used the opportunit­y to honour and pay homage to one of their teachers, Robert Buthelezi, who was praised for his passion for education and for his parental care.
