Father nabbed for alleged rape

NKANDLA SAPS have arrested a 34-year-old suspect for allegedly raping his own daughter in his homestead at Bhomela area in Nkandla.

It is alleged that last Wednesday, the suspect caught his daughter standing with a boy in the area, and demanded to know what the two were doing in the isolated area.

King Cetshwayo Police Cluster Spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose alleges that the suspect accused the two of being in love.

‘He then instructed his daughter to accompany him to her mother who lived with her. ‘When he arrived at the mother, the suspect informed her about his observations and he further told the mother that he was going to take his daughter to his residence because he felt that the woman failed to control her and he promised to take care of her, since the two are not married,’ said Mdlalose.

Mdlalose alleges that when the suspect arrived at his residence with his daughter, he allegedly ordered her to sleep in his rondavel, and he raped her repeatedly until the next morning.

‘The victim went back to her mother and reported what had transpired and a case of rape was reported at Nkandla SAPS. The suspect was arrested and charged with rape.
