NRB look to defend solid home record

- Dave Savides

TS GALAXY could be in for a torrid time when they come face to face with Richards Bay FC in a National First Division encounter at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).

Not only are the Natal Rich Boyz unbeaten at home, but head coach Brandon Truter knows the visitors’ game pretty well and has put in place plans that – if his squad executes them properly – could see them run riot in front of the local fans.

At a tactical training session on Tuesday, Truter identified a number of weaknesses that can be exploited if Galaxy stick to their normal attacking game and leave themselves vulnerable to counter attacks.

Expect the NRB boys to do plenty of movement on the pitch, both going forward and on defence, to maximize open spaces.

It’s a well-known adage that ‘strikers win matches but defenders win leagues’, and Truter will make sure there are no holes left at the back as the front men search for goals.

I expect this one to be a real treat for the home supporters and can see three more points in the bag as Richards Bay stay in the race for a promotion place.
