THE playing of both the men’s and women’s Zululand open singles knock-out stages, which were postponed due to the inclement weather, will now take place at Mtunzini on Sunday 11 November.

eShowe bowling club will be hosting their annual sponsored tournament over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of November and Mtunzini’s Turkey Day competitio­n will be played on Sunday, 2 December.

The format for the day is mixed trips at a cost of R300 per team and entries may be phoned to Marie-Lou Sugden at 083 5104258 or Darreth Mc Intyre at 083 6422908.

After the third round of the Empangeni Bowling Clubs’ Toyota Twilight Bowls tournament played last week, Toyota (2) took over the lead when they beat erstwhile leaders, Rocky Planets by 14 shots.

Haigs-Roly now lie in second place by virtue of a 13 shot victory over WJC Buzz and in today’s final game will be up against the new leaders.

Lurking in third place, is Miskiet who beat Johnny by 7 shots, and should the top game end in peels, may come into contention depending on the result of his game against Bill.

There are a number of permutatio­ns in the plate section which is currently being led by Acutts who beat Mixed (Round Table) by 19 shots followed by LP&R who had a 17 shot win against TTR Duvenager and Toyota (1) Steenkamp who beat A Team-Brian G by 12 shots.

The session prize, which was sponsored by Luis de Vasconcela­s, was won by team Acutts.
