Bay cricket all-rounder sets high standards for herself
RICHARDS Bay Christian School learner Arti Singh is a motivated youngster who is determined to succeed in both her academic and extra-curricular activities. She is one of equally talented triplets and enjoys public speaking, reading and plays a variety of sports. Cricket is her favourite sport. Being both a spin bowler and a proficient batsman, Arti was selected to represent the KZN U13 cricket team. Arti is also a champ in chess and was selected to represent the district and KZN at the South African junior chess championships in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
When she is not playing cricket, she likes to keep up with the country’s affairs and spends time reading about current news and events.
She has an extensive knowledge of SA politics, especially as both her parents work in the local government sector.
With a soft spot for animals, she is very involved in conservation awareness projects.
The Grade 7 learner manages to strike a healthy balance between her academic and extramural activities by ensuring that she works equally hard and diligently in both spheres.
Arti aspires to study medicine one day and pursue a career in research, eventually specialising in the study of stem cell functioning in the brain.
