On the streets for cancer

- Tamlyn Jolly

THE annual Boardwalkathon in aid of CANSA was a success, with 679 participants turning up to enjoy a healthy way to start the weekend in glorious weather.

With three distance options – 2km, 4km and 8km – to choose from to either walk or run, the fun event was ideal for the whole family to join in.

And join in they did, from children not yet in school to teens, young adults, the middle aged and older – everyone made the most of the event.

Top three in the 2km category were Vukile Mnqayi, Lungiswa Mnqayi and Aiden Boyce (U/13), top three in the 4km category were Zwelakhe Mdletshe (U/13), Ben Vumase and Musa Ndwendwe (60+), while Samkelisiwe Mngomezulu, Angelique Roets and Thulani Mdletshe earned the podium places in the 8km category.
