Pap smear promotes health awareness

-

LIFE Empangeni Private Hospital and resident gynaecologist and obstetrician, Dr Nonjabulo Dladla, will be conducting a Pap smear drive on Saturday, 17

August.

This initiative serves to remind women to take care of their health during Women’s Month and beyond.

A Pap smear is a painless and quick procedure to detect early cell changes in the neck of the womb, which could progress to cancer.

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cervix. Before developing into cancer, cervical cells undergo abnormal changes that a Pap test can detect.

With early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, the chances of surviving cervical cancer are good. Spaces are limited, so secure an appointment as soon as possible. Contact Buyi Mthiyane on
