Schools tennis league heats up

THE second round of the King Cetshwayo schools tennis league was played on Saturday.

Ninety-four primary school players competed in Mtunzini and Felixton, with 54 high school players competing at the Empangeni Bowling and Tennis Club.

Boys and girls aged U19 will compete in both singles and doubles contests over seven rounds.

Competitor­s follow a best of seven format and complete five matches each on the day.

Round three will be held on Saturday, with the primary school players competing at Holy Childhood School, and the high schools doing battle in Pongola.
