Wild ride for the wild dogs

- Larry Bentley

THE 2019 iMfolozi MTB Challenge was held in the iMfolozi Game Reserve on Saturday in very hot and dry conditions.

The ride is one of the Wildside fund-raising events which supports conservation in South Africa.

Sponsored by Old Mutual, the iMfolozi Challenge’s main focus is to support African wild dog conservation.

A total of 270 finishers, of whom 68 were women, crossed the line at the Centenary Centre.

The first woman home was Lesley Wilson-Jones in a time of 2:23:20, with Rouxda Grobler finishing second in 2:29:07.

They finished in 11th and 12th places overall.
