NOTIFICATION:

Please be advised that Hillside Aluminium (Pty) Limited would like to give notice of a planned shut of Fume Treatment Centre One (FTC1) that is scheduled from 5 August 2019 at 6:00 am to 8 August 2019 at 6:00 am.

During the period FTC1 will be switched off, the Bake Furnace fires will be shut down and the ventilation of the furnaces will be by natural draft. Due to the nature of the process, emissions may be visible from the Bake Furnace roof in the first hour on the first day of the shut. During start-up residents are advised that there may be visible emissions from both the Bake Furnace and FTC1, for a short period.
