Car wash temporarily shut down
EMPANGENI police reacted swiftly to a tip-off on Wednesday morning about a car wash in Empangeni operating illegally.
Officers found that the car wash, situated at the back of Five5Ways, was operating with an invalid permit and was not keeping to the correct regulations set by government for the Level 4 lockdown.
It was temporarily shut down and management was advised to apply for the correct permit before restarting operations.
Car washes are allowed to operate under certain conditions, one of which is that they can only wash essential services vehicles during the current lockdown stage.
