Keep the romantic spark alive during lockdown

- Wellington Makwakwa

WITH lockdown restrictions still to rule our lives for some time, it is having a negative impact in our personal and romantic lives.

But just because our movements are being limited and we can’t dine out as usual, doesn’t mean we can’t keep the spark alive in our relationships.

According to dating expert Hayley Quinn, couples can have a great time with her date night ideas during lockdown.

These are set to bring the spark back in the relationship while making new memories 5HVWDXUDQW DW KRPH

The traditional dinner date at a fancy restaurant is out of bounds, but that doesn’t mean you can’t set a dinner date.

You can still enjoy this traditional avenue of romantic interlude in the comfort of your own home.

Choose a recipe to cook together and start your date as you begin cooking your dish (this can be done via video call if you are apart).

This is a fun and interactive way of getting to know one another before sitting down to enjoy your meal.

It’s also worth looking online to see if your favourite restaurant has recipes available for you to recreate at home.

If you want an easier option, then you could opt for a take-away, but set some mood lighting and dress up the table to pretend that you are having a meal out. *DPHV QLJKW

Fun doesn’t stop just because the world is topsy-turvy.

If you want an interesting way to really get to know one another online, then try doing a personality quiz.

Ask each other the questions and get a deeper insight into each other’s characters.

Add a new dynamic and organise a virtual quiz with another couple too.

Organising rounds of games over multiple sessions is also a fun way to introduce more of a competitive element that will, in turn, provide lots of sustained opportunities for joking around together. +DSS\ KRXU

Missing those boozy nights out with your other half? What about those coffee dates?

It can be hard to switch off from everyday life, however agreeing on a happy hour with your date or partner is a great way to ensure you both have the opportunity to unwind and spend quality time together without distractions.

Whether you are living together or apart, make time in the diary that you can both look forward to, even if it’s just for a cup of tea together.
