ROOTS TO GROUND THEM, WINGS TO FLY

-

IT’s a very special little place with a beautiful atmosphere and a large, shady playground that echoes with the giggling, laughter and shouts of little pirates, bakers, astronauts, ballerinas and adventurers as they conquer fictitious worlds and explore faraway galaxies.

In their own separate mini ‘campus’, Felixton College Roots welcomes our two to five-year-olds into the Grades RRRR-to-R classrooms, where they are encouraged to play, jump, splash, paint, imagine and create while undertaking ‘learn-thoughplay’ exercises designed to promote social, emotional and academic development.

Reading, singing, dancing and tablework is undertaken in comfortable air-conditioned classrooms.

Roots provides a safe, home-fromhome environment that allows children to develop a healthy self-image, while parents rest in the knowledge that their little ones are safe within a private security village.

Exceptional teaching staff make sure that ‘free play’ constitutes a large

part of the school day and enthralling activities are set out to allow the children opportunities to solve problems and to be creative in a safe environment.

The Grade R’s love to walk across the field to visit the ‘big school’ (Felixton College) every week, where they enjoy media and computer lessons, alleviating any ‘big school’ fears when Grade 1 approaches.

Family is at the core of the school ethos and moms and dads as well as family members and friends are often included in special events that take place at the school.

As an added convenience for parents with older children, Roots offers after-care to coincide with bus times so that Roots children are cared for until their siblings finish school.
