Dube Housing Project

A critical housing shortage exists in many parts of the country and a dire local need was identified in the Dube area under Inkosi Dube. Ten houses were constructe­d in 2019 as Phase 1 of the project to help address that need. The contract value is R1.3-million.

The Administra­tion block at Gubhethuka Primary School is ‘good to go’, having been 100% completed at the end of December 2020. This project was identified in Dube area at Esikhaleni under Inkosi Dube, with the appointed and on-site contractor for the close to R950 000 project being Mr N Zwane of Alson Group. They employed six workers, of whom five were youths and one a female.

With a contract value of close to R2-million, the appointed and on-site contractor was Nomuntu Constructi­on & Projects, a 100% black women-owned company, which employs 5 females and 15 males – all youths.
