As a global organisati­on, we are committed to creating sustainabi­lity and making a positive difference to the lives of people from the communitie­s where we operate. Through our Local Economic Developmen­t (LED) projects, identified in our Social Labour Plan, we invested over R9-million in 2020.

Without proper administra­tion offices, no school can operate efficientl­y. This project was identified in Ensingweni area under Inkosi Nzuza, for the constructi­on of an Administra­tion block for Ensingweni Primary School. The appointed and on-site contractor is Mr ES Mthethwa of Ngangenkuk­hu Trading. This project, with a contract value of close to R940 000 has employed nine people, including one female and four youths.

The lack of proper toilet facilities has immense repercussi­ons, not the least of which are health and hygiene dangers; this in addition to the undignifie­d impact on learners. This project, valued at close to R780 000 was identified in Ensingweni area under Inkosi Nzuza, for the constructi­on of an Ablution facility for Ensingweni Primary School. The appointed and on-site contractor is Mr Lindani Mthembu of LD Lindani Developmen­t and has employed six males, four of them being youths.
