Amateur T20 cricket league gets the official go-ahead

LOCAL cricketers will welcome the announceme­nt that the King Cetshwayo Cricket District Associatio­n has confirmed a 2021 T20 league, to be competed from 6 March to 24 April, after Cricket South Africa gave the green light for amateur cricket to resume.

Nine clubs will be divided into two pools and complete a round robin, with the top two sides from each pool qualifying for the semi-finals. Pool 1 will include Empangeni Cricket Club (ECC), eSikhawini, eShowe and Thandanani. Pool 2 will include Felixton, Richards Bay Cricket Club 1 (RBCC 1), Brackenham, uMfolozi and Empangeni Rugby Football Club (ERFC).
