Tormented and threatened online
TORMENTED and threatened, a 20-yearold female university student is living in fear of the possibility that her stolen naked photos might one day flood social media.
The Richards Bay model and student told the ZO that a man unknown to her keeps threatening to post her photos after he apparently hacked her phone last year.
According to Siseko (not her real name), in September she received a Facebook friend request from an unknown man and they started chatting on Messenger.
‘From the very first day, he was fascinated that I was a model and kept asking me questions about it.
‘I didn’t take notice of it at first, until a week later when he showed a romantic interest in me.'
According to Siseko, her ordeal began when the man asked her to send him nude photos.
‘When I refused, he got really angry and promised to get them one way or another.'
Siseko’s worst nightmare became a reality when he began sending her the photos she had stored on her phone.
‘I had the shock of my life because no one had seen those photos. All photos he sent to me are those in a private folder and have never been sent, or seen by anyone.
‘That night I couldn’t sleep because he had threatened to post them on all social networks,’ she said.
However, the threat was just the beginning of Siseko’s problems. Days later she received a call from her uncle, telling her that her nude photos had been shared on an online site where young girls find blessers.
‘I confronted the man, but he threatened to spread them on more sites if I went to the police.
‘The puzzling thing is that some folders keep disappearing on my phone, and I know I never deleted them and no one has taken my phone,’ said Siseko.
The young student is now struggling to focus on her studies, and the threat continues to hang over her head. She is now looking at ways to find her bully.
