High energy drives all-rounder Shaelee
Eshowe High School pupil Shaelee Parker is an adventurous teenager who enjoys keeping herself busy with extracurricular activities, sport and doing volunteer work in her community.
The vibrant Grade 11 all-rounder is involved in swimming, scouting, modelling, community work, and enjoys gaming, writing and acting.
Describing herself as a loud, dramatic person who likes to make her presence known, Shaelee is excited about having completed her modelling training in June.
She recently also qualified as a modelling teacher, coach and adjudicator with Trelique Models International, and will be co-managing the modelling branch in eShowe.
Having been involved in modelling for six years, Shaelee says she has acquired different and unique skills from all the competitions, fashion shows, events and photo shoots she has been part of.
She believes the youth should not change who they are to fit into society’s ideals.
‘I have learnt about ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, and to always make time for those less fortunate, and show compassion to all.
‘Community service and environmental conservation are very close to my heart,’ she says.
With limited sport and other recreational activities owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, Shaelee keeps herself busy with local community service, volunteering at eShowe SPCA, working with the ‘Jars of Hope’ food
drives, visiting rural schools to engage with the pupils, and participating in ongoing community clean-up projects.
‘I am also fortunate to be able to participate in private swimming, hockey and fitness lessons, and assist with coaching youngsters in both swimming and hockey.’
Taking a keen interest in the arts, she enjoys acting, painting, gaming and loves being in nature and exploring the beaches.
‘I would also like to write as an outlet for my creative side.
‘A move to England or Canada would be exciting, but I might just stay in South Africa a little while longer to share some local experiences with my friends.
Shaelee is still exploring her career options as she is passionate about so many different things.
