Last of the first T6 Rangers tackle track

- Val van der Walt

WHAT was probably the last group of first-generation T6 Ford Rangers took to the Bainage 4x4 track last Saturday.

When the next lot of Ritchie Ford clients receive their Level One 4x4 certificates from Ford SA's off-road instructors, there will be new, second-generation bakkies present because these are set to go on sale soon.

Ford SA's complimentary off-road training became part of the deal when the T6 Ranger was launched 12 years ago.

Since then, hundreds of Ritchie Ford clients and thousands of Ford SA clients all over the country have undergone the Ranger-specific off-road training.

Ranger owners are always amazed at what their vehicles have been designed to do, and the most recent session at the Bainage track was no different.

Drivers were coached through, over and down all the obstacles, and even had to cross the Mhlathuze river.

After all the driving was done, it was time to kick off the mud and sit down for a meal at the track's lapa facilities, where the instructors handed out the Level One certificates.
