The Hilton
RENOWNED comedian Barry Hilton gave a resounding laughter masterclass at Richards Bay High School last Thursday.
The hosts were Richards Bay Round Table, the cause was the many charities they support, and the audience was local fans looking for a hilarious distraction from the tough realities of life.
“Combining comedy with charity was the ideal recipe,” said RT 200 convener Henning de Wet.
“Barry was relaxed and on top form, and with his impeccable timing and clean, observational humour, had the audience in stitches, proving once again why he is considered one of South Africa's comedy icons.
“The evening was not just about laughter; it was a demonstration of community spirit and generosity.
“The event saw a fantastic turnout, with attendees from all walks of life coming together to share in the universal language of laughter.
“Round Table Richards Bay is profoundly grateful to Midbay Motor
Group, our main partner and co-host, for their unwavering support and significant contribution to the event's success,” said de Wet.
He also thanked their other valued sponsors and partners including Talisman Plant
Hire for providing essential equipment, Ocean Audio for their expert sound and lighting services, Sunshine Catering for their beautiful stage decor, and Richards
Bay High School for generously offering the perfect venue.
“Special thanks go to Zululand Observer for their role in promoting the event, Jan Broodryk for ensuring all electrical needs were met, and Bon Hotel Waterfront for accommodating our esteemed guest, Barry
Hilton.”
“The vendors who participated, providing food, drinks and other items, also deserve our gratitude.
“The funds raised will go a long way in supporting those in need within our community, embodying the spirit of giving and solidarity that defines Round Table.”
