José G. Gotopo
(Falcón, Venezuela, 4 de agosto de 1964) Estudió Pintura en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas Tito Salas en 1979. Obtuvo la licenciatura en Artes Plásticas (1994) y en Educación (2004) en la Universidad Cecilio Acosta de Maracaibo. Entre los años 1995 y 2001 cursó estudios en The Art Student League of New York, con los profesores Catherin Redmon y Willian Shart. Imparte clases de Pintura en la Facultad Experimental de Arte de la Universidad Zulia.
Ha expuesto en Praga, Turquía, México, y en el Lincoln Center de Manhattan, Nueva York, Estados Unidos.
Entre los reconocimientos que ha obtenido se encuentran los primeros premios del Salón de Arte Ateneo de Coro; del XX Salón de Arte de Paraguana, Lagoven; del XX Salón de Arte de Occidente, Mérida; y el Gran Premio del VI Salón de Arte Cementos Caribe, Cumarebo, todos en Venezuela. He studied painting at the School of Plastic Arts “Tito Salas” in 1979. He obtained a degree in Plastic Arts (1994) and in Education (2004) at the “Cecilio Acosta” University in Maracaibo. Between 1995 and 2001, he studied at the Art Student League of New York, with professors Catherin Redmon and William Shart. He teaches painting at the Experimental School of Art of Zulia University.
He has exhibited in Prague, Turkey, Mexico, and Lincoln Center in Manhattan, New York, United States.
Among the recognitions that he has obtained are the first prizes of “Ateneo de Coro” Art Hall; of the 20th Art Salon of Paraguana, Lagoven; of the 20th Art Salon of Western Art, Mérida; and the Grand Prize of the 6th “Arte Cementos Caribe” Salon, Cumarebo, all in Venezuela.
