A PRAISE FOR THE ESSENTIAL TOOL OF A DANCER

Arte por Excelencias - - CUBA -

“Acosta Danza”, the company that star dancer Carlos Acosta founded and directs artistically in Cuba - it is no longer news that he has assumed the direction of the Birmingham Royal Ballet -, takes the stage of the García Lorca Hall of the “Gran Teatro de la Habana, Alicia Alonso” to offer us its fourteenth season and the first of 2020.

This series will be characterized by the work that artists do with their bodies, “the fundamental tool of the dancer - Acosta himself has expressed - for him it is his brush, his guitar, his chisel and his stone”. According to the titles chosen, both the revivals and the world premiere are consistent with the objectives of the artistic director.

The successive choreographies of this poster show the development of technique, lyricism and body expressiveness that springs from the creative mind as a response of maximum capacity, at very demanding works of virtuosity.
