BFA SE CONSOLIDA COMO UN ORIGINAL MODELO DE INNOVACIÓN EN COOPERACIÓN BFA HAS ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS AN ORIGINAL MODEL OF COOPERATIVE INNOVATION Inmersa en su tercera edición, la aceleradora de proyectos de innovación para la industria de automoción, Business Auto Factory (BFA), creada en Galicia, se asienta como un modelo de notables resultados. / Now in its third edition, the initiative founded in Galicia to accelerate projects of innovation in the automotive industry, Business Auto Factory (BFA), stands as a model with notable results.
La búsqueda de formas diferenciadas de cooperación orientada a la innovación por agentes públicos y privados vinculados a la industria de automoción en Galicia cristalizó en la iniciativa Business Factory Auto (BFA). Surgió con el objetivo de identificar, acelerar y consolidar proyectos especializados en automoción y su transformación en empresas innovadoras viables y escalabras que atraigan y retengan talento. Contribuye así a fortalecer el posicionamiento del sector y a incrementar su proyección internacional. BFA es una iniciativa promovida por la Xunta de Galicia a través de la Axencia Galega de Innovación (GAIN), el Instituto Galego de Promoción Económica (Igape) y la Sociedad Gestora de Entidades de Inversión de Tipo Cerrado (Xesgalicia); el Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo (CZFV) y Vigo Activo Sociedad de Capital Riesgo (Vigo Activo), la Fundación Clúster de Empresas de Automoción de Galicia (CEAGA), y el Groupe PSA. En la tercera edición, actualmente en curso, CEAGA ha seleccionado 20 proyectos empresariales en una convocatoria que arrancó los pasados 15 de octubre (fase de consolidación) y 29 de octubre (fase de aceleración). En noviembre y diciembre se impartió un módulo de formación de esta convocatoria, que incluyó sesiones sobre la cultura del emprendimiento y el sector de automoción. Los participantes del programa de
TThe search for differentiated forms of cooperation geared towards innovation through public and private agents linked to the automotive industry in Galicia has taken shape as the BFA initiative. It emerged with the aim of identifying, accelerating and consolidating automotive projects specialised in the automotive sector and transforming them into viable and scalable innovative companies that attract and retain talent. Thereby it contributes to strengthening the position of the sector and increasing its international projection. Business Factory Auto (BFA) is an initiative promoted by the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), the Galician Institute for Economic Development (IGAPE) and the Collective Investment Undertakings of the Closed-End Type (Xesgalicia); the Free Trade Zone Consortium of Vigo (CZFV) and Vigo Activo Sociedad de Capital Riesgo (Vigo Activo); the Galician Automotive Companies Cluster Foundation (CEAGA) and the Groupe PSA. In its third edition, CEAGA has selected 20 entrepreneurial projects from a call for projects on the 15 (the consolidation phase) and 29 October (the acceleration phase). En el caso de los proyectos de consolidación, la formación se centró en la negociación y la persuasión y su importancia para las nuevas empresas. Desde la constitución de BFA a finales de 2016, se han puesto en marcha startups (empresas emergentes nacidas a partir de una idea o proyecto); one company spin-out (creación de una nueva empresa a partir de una línea de negocio por una empresa), several companies spin-outs y spin-offs (generación de una nueva empresa al externalizar una unidad de negocio). El objetivo, según todas las partes implicadas, se centra en ayudar a reforzar el sector de automoción de Galicia, al tratarse de compañías que trabajan en ámbitos muy diversos como desarrollo de productos, servicios o mejora de procesos. Desde el BFA se ofrece una financiación muy ventajosa para los proyectos. Según fuentes de BFA, el programa cuenta con sesiones formativas en las cuales los miembros de los proyectos “podrán empaparse de todo lo necesario sobre la cultura del sector auto. La formación será impartida por expertos independientes con experiencia contrastada en el sector automóvil, los cuales tratarán de guiar a cada equipo y a su proyecto a la obtención de los resultados which included sessions on entrepreneurial culture and the automotive sector. A principios de 2017, el responsable de Innovación de Procesos del Centro de Vigo del Grupo PSA, Juan José Areal, manifestaba que la iniciativa del BFA constituye ”un instrumento de desarrollo, innovación y creación de valor compartido”. Desde su inicio, el constructor francés, implantado desde hace más de 60 años en Galicia, ha apoyado el programa a través del Business Lab, que tiene como misión detectar a nivel mundial detectar nuevas actividades de automoción de pymes o startups que asuman retos relativos a la movilidad y al área digital. En el arranque de la segunda edición (con 20 proyectos después de los 10 de la primera), Frédéric Puech, entonces director general del Polo Industrial Ibérico, afirmó que “Galicia constituye un polo de excelencia en la automoción europea. La Asociación de Parques Científicos y Tecnológicos de RECONOCIMIENTO POR PARTE DE LA APTE España (APTE) concedió el premio “mejor práctica en parques científicos y tecnológicos de 2018” a la BFA. El galardón, señalan desde CEAGA, valora tanto el aspecto innovador de la iniciativa como su impacto en las entidades del Parque y en su entorno. El encargado de recoger el premio, el pasado 22 de noviembre en Avilés (Asturias) fue el responsable del Equipo Gestor del Business Factory Auto, Jorge Gómara, quien agradeció el apoyo de todos los impulsores de la iniciativa y en especial al Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo, por facilitar el uso de sus instalaciones a las empresas del BFA. development of the skills and abilities of the team, among others. The Association of Science and Technology Parks of RECOGNITION FROM THE APTE Spain (APTE by its Spanish name) awarded the prize for “Best Practise in Science and Technology Parks of 2018” to BFA. According to CEAGA, the award values both the innovative aspects of the initiative and its impact on the organisations that make up the Park and its surroundings. The head of the management team of Business Factory Auto, Jorge Gómara, collected the award on 22 November in Avilés (Asturias), thanking the initiative’s backers for their support and in particular the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium for facilitating BFA companies with use of the their facilities.
