Anti-virus hygienic surfaces inside the vehicle

The webinar on 2 February, framed in the Unprecedented Industrial Dialogues of the Eurocar Congress of Eurosurfas, to be held at Fira de Barcelona (from 14 to 17 September), co-organised by CIDETEC Surface Engineering and the Society of Automotive Technicians (STA), put the focus on the trends of hygienic surfaces in the interior of the vehicle.
Javier Goñi, president of CIDETEC, moderated the session opened by Lola Sánchez, Faurecia’s Project Innovation leader. In relation to antimicrobial surfaces and new functionalities, the Tier 1’s representative presented a study and survey carried out by Faurecia worldwide to know about the impact of Covid in the automotive sector. The study on cleaning habits and expectations in the current context was carried out with owners of private vehicles and taxi users. Sánchez explained that “individuals were asked if they were concerned about the hygiene of the interior of their vehicle; on how they checked whether the interior of their vehicle was clean and safe; how the coronavirus had impacted their cleaning routine; and if they would be willing to pay more to prevent possible infections in their vehicle.
