Código Bushido

-

With 35 million inhabitants, Tokyo is the most populated city in the world and a source of inspiration for hundreds of artists.among the many creators who travel to the Japanese capital in search of ideas is David García Máñez, vocalist and composer of the band Código Bushido. Attracted by the hustle and bustle of the megalopolis, the respect with which its people preserve its traditions, and its cutting-edge technological development, this singer travels to Japan several times a year. He feels so attached to the Japanese culture that David baptized his musical project with the same name as that used for the set of ethical codes of conduct that the Samurai used in days gone by, Código Bushido –Bushido Code in English–, codes which were based on justice, courage, loyalty, honesty, honor, respect, and compassion. In addition to his identifying with these codes of conduct and applying them in his daily life, during his stays in Tokyo the artist tries to join in daily life like a true Tokyoite.

2019 was an important year for David: Código Bushido’s second album, produced by Fermín Bouza and recorded at Estudios 54 (Juan Sueiro), which includes 12 motivating pop-rock songs, was released monthly throughout the year.this pioneering way to get his singles to his followers was due to changes in music consumption, which is increasingly fleeting due to the recent popularity of digital entertainment platforms.

Thus, with this innovative “one song per month” format, the band debuted each song with its own cover artwork while sharing fragments of the lyrics and getting real-time feedback from followers – thus achieving a close, vivid relationship between the artist and the listener, something which was not common during this song release process in the past.

The good reviews in the media and a considerable number of views on Youtube and Spotify from Spain and Latin America, have proved the effectiveness of the group’s strategy.without neglecting our country, David will return to Mexico this year. Considered as “The Door to America,” Mexico City was David’s home for several months in 2017 while he undertook a promotional tour and did several concerts and introductory events.

Despite the fact that he seems to have one foot in America and another in Asia, the Basque Country continues to be David’s headquarters. In fact, at the end of 2019 he delighted us with an exclusive concert at BASQUE LUXURY STUDIO so that we could enjoy the single of his first album, Cien flechas, and several singles from his second album released in 2019, Corazón sin ley, Como Héroes, and Para Siempre. Additionally, we were able to sample a couple previously unreleased songs that will become part of his recently-recorded third album which will debut this year and is sure to become a great success.
