FLORAL ART

-

Floral art as applied to corporate settings is more in vogue than ever. More and more companies now understand the importance of introducing natural elements into work environments, achieving not only more beautiful settings but also wellbeing among employees and customers.the hotel industry is certainly the most advanced in this regard. Every year, great hotels like the George V of Paris, the Dolder Grand of Zürich, and the Bellagio of Lasvegas surprise their guests on special dates like Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Chinese New Year with spectacular floral sculptures that do not take long to go viral.

In the Basque Country, the flower shop that is doing the most outstanding work in this field isvillaflores.among the luxury hotels that it has served are the María Cristina, the Lasala Plaza, the Arteaga Castle, and the Château de Brindos.villaflores has also designed an infinite number of decorative elements for weddings and for companies and institutions as important as the Regional Government of Gipuzkoa, the Kursaal Convention Center and its Ni Neu Restaurant, Orona, Perrier-jouët Champagne, the San Telmo Museum, the Bokado Restaurant at the Aquarium, the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park, Mimo Food, the financial services company Barclays, and the San Sebastián International Film Festival. In relationship with the seventh art, the flower shop was also in charge of all the floral and plant decoration for Woody Allen’s ‘Rifkin’s Festival.’

Some of the work undertaken for corporations is temporary in nature (decoration at a conference or a board meeting), although the number of firms opting for permanent plant and flower arrangements in different parts of their premises is on the rise. In these cases, villaflores uses plants adapted to the light of each office which do not require complex planting techniques and are resistant to going several days without water.

There are firms that don’t have a lot of space to incorporate vegetation. In this scenario, the ideal thing would be a vertical garden; and if plants that do not require maintenance are sought, it is recommended that they be freeze-dried (a process which replaces the sap with a glycerin solution).villaflores has recently installed two freeze-dried murals: one at the Uvesco Group headquarters and another at Salto Systems – a company for which the flower shop has additionally created a striking four-meter-high natural tree with artificial flowers.

We at BASQUE LUXURY have also chosenvillaflores for the design of the bamboo forest that breathes life into our studio’s garden.the firm’s actions demonstrate what this flower shop proclaims with such determination: that plant life improves concentration, helps people to feel more connected with nature, promotes calm in the environment, and encourages the creative development that we so much need.
