Un deportista de élite viajó recientemente con su familia a Laponia, para pasar allí las Navidades. Por supuesto, visitaron el pueblo y la casa de Papá Noel en el Círculo Polar Ártico. Lo que no esperaba, al ser atendido por el mismísimo Santa Claus, es que éste le diera un regalo a su hijo. ¡Y qué regalo! El niño recibió una taza de cuerno de reno con su propio nombre y con el escudo del club de su padre grabados a láser. La sorpresa y la emoción fueron mayúsculas, aunque enseguida se dieron cuenta de quién ayudó a Santa Claus a escoger el regalo: su agencia de viajes, Siguiente Destino. Con sede en Leioa, esta empresa especializada en la organización de viajes personalizados, está liderada por Lorea González, una trotamundos empedernida que conoce los rincones más recónditos del planeta, y vive a medio camino entre Bilbao y Tokio. La organización de las vacaciones comienza con una reunión presencial entre el asesor de viajes y los clientes, para conocer sus preferencias y el país que les gustaría visitar -la empresa tiene un departamento especializado en lunas de miel (Myweddingtravel Bilbao),otro en viajes corporativos
(My Business Travel Bilbao) y un tercero en viajes vacacionales (Siguiente Destino Bilbao), cada uno con su responsable de área-. A partir de ahí, el asesor crea un programa ad hoc que se sale de los itinerarios turísticos,y traslada toda esa información detallada a un libro impreso -una guía realizada en exclusiva para ellos-.
A few days before the trip, the customers receive a gift tablet that they can take with them on vacation with directions and information about the places they are going to visit, as well as entertainment for the plane related to the destination and their tastes: for readers, novels that take place in the country they are flying to; for moviegoers, films shot in cities where they will be staying, etc. In addition to the tablet, customers can download the agency’s application on their cell phones, where they will have their boarding passes, as well as tickets to monuments and for all the reserved shows.
Asia, Europe, America, and Africa; Siguiente Destino organizes exclusive trips to any continent and they have Spanish-speaking employees in each of these places to welcome travelers,in addition to a 24-hour contact number for the agency itself. Once at the destination, clients will be surprised time and time again by small details: an upgrade in the hotel room category, personalized garments with the initials of the guests, transfers in a private seaplane instead of in a shared one, and –why not– a reindeer antler mug with their sports club’s crest.
