Propiedad de Arínzano

WINERY

-

A large, impressive arch designed by the Pritzker Laureate Rafael Moneo welcomes visitors to Propiedad de Arínzano, the oldest wine property in Spain. Acquired by the noble Sancho Fortuñones de Arínzano in the year 1055, the property has always been able to skillfully combine its ancient tradition with a modern vision.

Located in Navarre, in a manor measuring 299 hectares and which extends on both sides of the Ega River, Propiedad de Arínzano is under the direction of the Head Winemaker José Manuel Rodríguez (formerly in charge of the LVMH Numanthia Winery) and has managed to obtain the most prestigious qualification in Spain for its wines:vinos de Pago, a denomination of origin that has only been achieved by 20 wineries in the Peninsula. From the charming and elegant ‘Hacienda de Arínzano Blanco’ to the most iconic of its red wines,‘señorío de Arínzano,’ an exceptional Vin de Garage featuring 100% Tempranillo grapes from 2016, each and every one of the winery’s creations is enchanting due to their complexity and refinement.

The best place to taste these Vinos de Pago is undoubtedly the winery itself.thus, Propiedad de Arínzano has designed a series of wine tourism experiences which include a visit to the estate in a SUV, tastings with an assortment of Iberian cold cuts in the Ham Room located in the property´s medieval tower, barrel tastings, and paired dinners, among others.those who want to delve deeper into the winery’s thousand-year-old history can do so by staying in one of its eight exclusive rooms made available to wine lovers. Four of the rooms are located in La Casona, a beautiful building from the eighteenth century with contemporary décor and fantastic views of the vineyard.the other four are located in La Villa, a cozy building that invites you to relax –glass in hand– in front of its stone fireplace.

The history, architecture, gastronomy, unique accommodation, terroir, and, especially, the wine have turned Propiedad de Arínzano into a magnificent treasure; a timeless winery that enchants all the senses.
