Ekhi Gold Chocolates

-

The golden sunset over the sea, observed from the untamed cliffs of Sokoa in the French Basque Country, was what inspired Juan Mari Iriarte to create chocolate bonbons with real gold.the son of a family of chocolatiers from Navarre, Iriarte trained as a pastry chef and master chocolatier with some of the best international players in the trade and, in 2018, he was the first person from Navarre to obtain a Master’s Degree in Chocolate Making.after years working in his family’s pastry shop in Bera, he decided to immortalize the beautiful image of the sunset through a gold-dipped artisan chocolate. He called his delectable creation Ekhi – the word used to refer to the sun in the French Basque Country.

After five years of R&D with a team made up of designers, nutritionists, jewelers, and scientists, Iriarte finally achieved the formula, which he has patented, to create the Sunset bonbon: the world’s first molded gold bonbon. Thus, each semicircle, that represents a sunset, is perfectly covered by a 22.5 K gold bath. Gold and chocolate: the perfect combination of two treasures of humanity in one extraordinary bite.

In addition to these golden suns, Ekhi Gold has just debuted square chocolates infused with gold flakes, called Horizon.these treats are ideal for sharing and feature an exquisite presentation: the coming together of innovation, sophistication, and art. In both cases, chocolate they make is of the highest quality, created with Criollo cocoa beans from Peru (the Mandirofolo Plantation) and Madagascar (the Alto el Sol Plantation); these beans are 100% traceable and are certified fair trade products.those with the most sophisticated taste will appreciate the exceptional nature of these luxury chocolates which are true edible gems.
