Calpe Gilbert & Sullivan Society
The Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society was formed in May 2009 by an enthusiastic group from Calpe and the surrounding area. To celebrate the wonderful music and lyrics of Gilbert and Sullivan. We believe one of our strengths as a society is not only our singers and production crew, but also the fact that we use a live band for all our performances. We heartily welcome new members in all capacities - singers, backstage, set design and construction, front of house, costumes, to name a few. We meet every Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Footlights Centre near the Hotel Esmeralda in Calpe. Javea Players
If you have an interest in the theatre you will find many good reasons for joining us. In Javea old town we have our own theatre cum green-room where we have become accustomed to playing to full houses. Our summer shows preceded with an alfresco dinner in Javea's lovely courtyard, the Plaza Baix have become something of an institution. And, as we are about to step into our 39th year, we were formed in 1976, we will be adding to our long run of hit productions, Alfred Hitchcock's ' The 39 Steps' which plays the Union Musical, Gata November 3 to 7.
