The Javea Associatio­n of Model Makers

JAMM session on the second Tuesday of each month. The aim of the club is to exchange ideas and teach each other new techniques, we cater for all levels of skill and subjects including, ships, boats, aircraft, tanks, cars, trains, railways electric and steam, HO to garden size. We also have three fully equipped workshops within the group capable of making almost anything. The Royal British Legion Javea Branch

Meetings at L'Ancora´ Tennis Club in Javea on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 11.30am. Javea School of Bridge and Social Club

We play bridge five days a week commencing at 2.30pm. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays is tournament bridge until 6pm. If you need a partner ring Sandra on 96 505 8276. Tuesdays is our teaching afternoon. Lessons commence at 2.30pm. For complete beginners to intermedia­te Friends of the Church of England in Albir met to test their skills and to enjoy a wonderful paella spread at the home of Hazel & Tony Layt in Albir.

Over €300 was raised to support the continued Church of England ministry here, including funerals and pastoral care to the sick and the bereaved - and the activities of the seven local churches in support of causes such as Caritas, Emaús, World Vision and the Gandia Hospice.

The paella, cooked by Tony and the other eats, made by Hazel, were supplement­ed with food for the mind, in the form of a quiz, where every answer was a word with two double letters in it. The quiz was won by Kathy Johnson, from the church at La Fustera.

The Chaplaincy serves the community from Valencia to Alicante with Sunday service in 7 different towns.

Todos Juntos Javea

Todos Juntos Javea began in 2011. Its aim was to raise money for families in Jávea who were suffering financiall­y because of the present situation. All the money raised is directed to families most in need through Social Services. We have supplied school lunches, glasses, special classes for children who need extra help. We have a small multi national Board, Dutch, English, German and Spanish and a growing membership again of all nationalit­ies. We work primarily in Jávea although for 2 years running had very successful evenings at the opera in Valencia. We have staged 2 major concerts in the old town of Jávea with the very kind cooperatio­n of the Conservato­rio de Música, both teachers and students. Our fundraisin­g activities tend to be musical, we have had great success with some local bands and recently have enjoyed a fabulous Jazz and Dinner Evening in Carnaval Restaurant in Jávea.
