The Centre and Charity Shop are doing very well, with more people visiting, especially on Wednesdays and Fridays, when there is a nurse. We hope to increase the number of days a nurse is available over time.

We have translators and helpers for several languages including German and Spanish. Also lots of equipment for loan and hire, plus leaflets and products.

MABS is mainly a British charity organisation, but we are open for everybody without excluding anyone.

Donations have been received from the ice bucket challenge, two coffee mornings, the Rumba class and the Easypost system.

Liam and Angie T are going to set up an 'intercambio' in the centre, a weekly meeting where English speaking and Spanish speaking people can come together to have a chat and to learn more about each other's language. Anyone interested in this, please contact Liam on 603 720 947 or Angie on 687 211 722.

There have been several donations, from Winnie's bar and from tins, which are going towards the cost of the van. We now have some €2,500.

Fundraising

Whenever anyone organises a fundraising activity it is important to follow the right procedure. When you organise an event, get in touch with Sue and always use the MABS logo, the charity registration number and a letter of approval to give the guarantee that the event is actually organised in accordance with MABS procedure.

All fundraising efforts, small or big, are highly appreciated.

The Fashion Show will take place on Saturday November 22 at the centre, at 12 noon. Angie is still looking for some models, preferably also some men!

The El Raco's annual dinner and dance is planned on Saturday November 29. Tickets will be available at next monthly meeting.

Our next monthly meeting will be at the Centre in La Cala on Wednesday October 29, at 11am.
