First defeat (10- 8) for Rugby La Vila, last Saturday at Valencia against regional rivals Cau Valencia. La Vila obtained at least one bonus point for losing less than seven points
It was a very close game, played on an artificial grass pitch, which La Vila players are not used to.
Juanma Quirante scored for La Vila and converted one penalty. With only five minutes to go to finish the game, La Vila's forwards lost 3 scrums at five meters from the try line. It was a pity, but CAU Valencia defenders were superb.
The next home game will be on Sunday, October 19 at 12.30 at Villlajoyosa Stadium. We will play against Tecnidex Valencia. Tickets will be €5 adults and under 12s enter free.
The game due to be played in Alfaz against Weathley Hills RFC was played at Elche Rugby as Alfaz Council did not authorise the game to be played at Alfaz Polideportivo. La Vila club would like to apologise to any spectators who turned up at Alfaz. It was a disappointing result as La Vila lost 33-18. The second team will start to play Saturday, October 18. Still time to join the club, train and play for second team. They play locally at Alicante level, not long journeys, only local, Denia, Alicante, Elche, Torrevieja. New Players are welcome. Cost is €200 per season, including insurance and travel expenses.
The Club also runs women's rugby and U18, U16, U14, U12, U10 and U8 teams. Training has already started.

At the first roundabout head for the mountain. It is about 1 km from Motorway exit nº 66. Or take the Villajoyosa by-pass, and take the middle exit, at the first roundabout, bare right towards the motorway entrance and at the second roundabout bare left towards the mountain.
