First defeat of the season for Monte

CD Montesinos 0 - 1 Playas de Orihuela

The harsh tackling by Orihuela and the poor performance of the referee was insignificant as Monte suffered their first defeat of the season in front of a 220 crowd.

Monte began the half the better team Vaz was shadowed constantly by former Monte player Andres whose challenge prevented Vaz from going in on goal. After 10 minutes of bad tackles by the visitors the referee finally showed a yellow card for a foul on Marcos.

Monte kept plugging away but Orihuela are a strong well organised outfit who contained any home threat with ease, Vaz finally produced a good save from keeper.

On 20 minutes, Monte's right back Dimitry was caught napping and the Orihuela No 9 cut inside to score via the post 0-1.

M+A sent in a great cross minutes later only for it to be missed by 3 Monte players. Marcos produced a fine save from the visiting keeper in the closing stages of the half. H. T 0-1

The second half started like the first with Carlos going close and a Dimitry cross well saved. A deliberate hand ball went un-carded and the resulting free kick saw an M+A shot come to nothing.

Orouker was replaced by Edu and Alberto for Yonhi but this made no difference as Monte were limited to try shots from long distance by Marcos and Carlos.

Edu then pulled up so the sub was subbed by Rubio.

Yonhi and Fernando had shots go wide as the game fizzled out for a Monte home defeat.

This weekend Monte are away to San Isidro on Saturday, October 11 with a 6pm kick off.
