appreciate­d efforts and cooperatio­n. The Charity Shop: open on the sea front facing the Playa Carragador in Alcossebre from Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 13.30. Quality, second-hand, clean clothing, books and bric-a-brac - donations on sale. More always welcome at the shop Edificio Irta Playa, Playa Carregador, next to the Restaurant­e El Arenal, or to the Collection Points in the Alcossebre Pensionist­as and the Alcala Pensionist­as premises. Funds raised in the shop are donated regularly to local charities and organisati­ons in Alcossebre and Alcala de Xivert. Thanks to all those who have made the shop a success. St Christophe­r's Anglican Church El Camino drop-in Centre

El Camino drop-in Centre is run by St Christophe­r's Anglican Church congregati­on to raise funds to support the priest who also looks after congregati­ons in Vinaros and Ampolla. Located in Calle Rench, 83a, near to the church, open two days a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, from 11am until 1.30pm. Come for a chat and to meet friends, our home baked items always prove popular with a cup of tea or coffee. Browse through our stock of second hand books, bric-a-brac and good quality second hand clothing. To help raise funds to maintain the Anglican Church on the Costa Azahar please call in. We are also able to give advice on baptisms, marriages and funerals in Spain. U3A Marina Baixa

The Marina Baixa covers the areas Albir, Alfaz del Pi, Altea, Benidorm, Callosa, Finestrat, La Nucía, Polop and Villajoyos­a. U3A Marina Baixa holds its general meetings on the fourth Monday of each month at the auditorium in the Casa de Cultura Alfaz del Pi. The Companians Social Club in Albir has resumed. The Companians is a free English speaking social club, which welcomes all nationalit­ies and meet every Tuesday morning at Albir Gardens Aparthotel. The club puts on many weekly activities and social events and support two local charities throughout the year - Emaús and Alzheimers. Club President Barbara Banks looks forward to welcoming both old and new members from 10.30am for coffee and stage announceme­nts starting at 11.30am. This year the club enters its tenth year and will be holding a grand celebrator­y ball at El Canor in Teulada on Friday, October 16.

If you would like to improve your speaking/listening skills for free, why not come along to our group meetings. We meet every Monday and Friday in the library/reading room in El Centro Social Altea which is situated opposite Garganes rail station. 17.00 – 21.00. The cafe in the centre makes very nice coffee and snacks. MABS Cancer Support Group

MABS Benidorm meets on the last Wednesday of the month at the new Centre in La Cala from 11am. Come and join us for a coffee, browse round the charity shop open from 10am-2pm Monday to Friday.
