The plan behind Boris’s burqa comments

-

Genius and god-like comedy actor Rowan Atkinson appears to have ruptured one of his funny bones. He has leapt to the defence of Boris Johnson writing to The Times to say that his line about wearers of the burqa looking like letterboxes was a pretty good joke. No, it wasn’t, it was puerile nonsense and language unbecoming of a senior politician, especially one who was recently the foreign secretary, albeit a terrible one.

Boris’s now infamous Daily Telegraph article was not intended to shed light on the emotive and divisive issue of whether or not there should be a ban on the burqa. Like everything else he does its purpose was to serve the greater good of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson which is to royally screw the country by becoming PM and to keep us talking about him. Boris has an unquenchable thirst to be noticed all the time, reminding me of a lyric from a Robbie Williams song that states 'if you don’t see me I don’t exist'.

He wrote that he was not in favour of a ban but used ill-advised language to appeal to his narrowminded grassroots supporters. He should’ve known and probably did that it was a siren call to racists everywhere.

The member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip has done nothing illegal, although he may have breached the Tories’ code of conduct and of course, he is free to say what he likes. But just examine one of his other motives for writing his piece and that was to stir up Islamophobia and use that to help get him into office.

Continuing his defence of Boris's words Atkinson went onto write: "All jokes about religion cause offence, so it's pointless apologising for them." But Rowan, Boris was not joking and he is not a comedian. He is a lying (just ask his wife, his ex-wife, his mistresses and his colleagues) dangerous man who is lurching ever further to the right to a world occupied by the likes of Donald Trump and his former acolyte Steve Bannon. And it is an awful and ugly place. dation with her father there’s her outspoken halfsister, Samantha Grant. According to reports she is set to join the next series of Celebrity Big Brother. Things could get a lot messier.
