Pillar boxes are red

-

I know that what I am about to write about will upset, maybe even anger an individual, but it seems to me that many think the way I do but do not dare to say it in case we beaten by the politically correct police.

A couple of days ago Boris Johnson brought the wrath of a politically correct nation down upon himself. The nation was in uproar. ‘Apologise,’ many of the public shouted. Many Muslim women took to the streets dressed in Jihabs and face veils in protest against this awful man for saying what he thought.

The same week, I remember vaguely that 70-odd people died in Malaysia and 44 or so in Greece – both in earthquakes, I believe. There were a couple of killings in Britain, and a lot more in the USA.

However, I only remember vaguely about these most terrible disasters because there was little mention of the cruel torment of nature that had been showered upon them, while the ‘Boris Johnson Affair’ raged through the streets of London in what was once a ‘Church of England’ country.

Indeed, it is to the British people’s credit that many have been invited to reside and take up residency in England, no matter what their colour, race, or religion was.

I can thank Spain for letting me live here. But I do so quiet legally by abiding by their laws and paying all taxes that are demanded of me so I can feel that I live here honestly. I can mingle among the Spanish people without their ever guessing that I was not born one of them.

Why can’t Muslim, Jewish and Indian people not do the same and live peacefully and mingle amongst the Spanish without making a ‘statement’ about their religion?

British Conservative Party Members are up in arms because fluffy-haired Boris said, basically, the same. They cry out for an apology from this ‘un-British’ man!

Foreigners wishing to live in Britain should, in my opinion, and probably in the opinion of many, try to go quietly among the noise and haste and join the British people in their customs; and it is not a British custom for anyone to walk around in a garment covering a person from top to toe.

Such a garment could hide not only the face of a male or female but also (until it is too late) hide a weapon, or bomb or any agent used by followers of IS who want to kill and main any and all those around him/her.

Of course all religions should have their own churches/mosques/temples et al. But I keep thinking when I see a young woman here who is swaddled from head to toe in, albeit colourful, trousers, long-sleeve blouses, and large headscarves, which most often are clipped to their head at the side of their faces, that maybe they might like to wear a swimsuit and frolic in the sea.

I have read the Koran (in German, so there may be some things lost in the translation) and nowhere does it say that a woman must wear thick black hijabs and face veils.

However, if such Muslims feel that they must dress like that and cut them- selves off from the other non-muslim residents of the country they live in, then why, for Heaven’s sake do they not go to live in a country where such garb is demanded of a female.

And, by the by, I, personally, think Boris Johnson was right: they do look like post boxes. Haven’t seen any Jihabs in red though, have you?
